- Closed shoes with grip.
- More water than you think.
- A light jacket for the wind higher up.
How much walking
Moderate. Moderate in the village, harder on the crater.
Warnings
Fumarole gases irritate. Avoid the area if you have breathing problems and do not enter closed zones. Muds and paths must be checked on site: they are not guaranteed.
Who it suits
Travellers with little time who want a volcanic landscape close to Milazzo. Less suitable if you want museums or a night out.
