Controller
The controller is the operator of Marenostrum Bed and Breakfast, Via dei Mille 20, 98057 Milazzo (ME), Italy. The email is [email protected]. Legal name and VAT number are not published yet: this notice is not final. The contact is the WhatsApp number on the site and this email.
Which data
On an availability request the name is required. Email, phone, number of children, a second stay and a note are optional. The site does not ask for consent to messages about future stays: the Marenostrum Club is not active and there is no join form. We do not ask for documents. Concierge QR codes carry only an anonymous label of where they are posted, never a door code and never a name.
Why
The request data are used to prepare the WhatsApp message for the operator. The site does not send newsletters and does not sign anyone up to a programme.
The form does not save a guest record on the website and does not confirm that anything was sent. It prepares WhatsApp with the message. The request reaches the operator only when you send it. From then on the conversation is between you and the property’s phone, on WhatsApp (Meta) systems, which may process data outside the European Economic Area under their own rules. Do not put documents or other people’s data in the message.
Anti-spam checks
A check on the device verifies that the fields make sense. A check on the site receives the same fields, verifies them and does not write them into an archive. That step does not mean the request was received or delivered.
Audience measurement and weather
Visits may be measured in aggregate, without profiling cookies, only if that tool has been switched on. A click, for example on Book, records an action and the page, not the name. Your browser asks Open-Meteo for the weather. For venues, the site asks Google for the status of the listing. Those calls include neither a name nor an email.
For how long
The website does not store the form. Name, email, phone and note can stay on the device only for the session, until WhatsApp opens, and are then removed. The trip diary and the language stay on this device, without an account. If you send the message, it stays in the property’s WhatsApp chat. How long the operator keeps it is not stated yet: this notice does not set a deadline.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction and, where the conditions are met, objection or portability. You can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority. The Italian text prevails.
